X-Treme X-Men 42

Continuing from the last issue, the team prepares for the upcoming missions and changes into their uniforms. They get added help when Magma (Amara Aquilla) brings Sunspot (Roberto DaCosta) and Skids (Sally Blevins) to help.

Cannonball (Sam Guthrie) gets them organized and explains the missions. Their advisory is Elias Bogan - a mutant predator who likes to use puppets to do his dirty work. Bogan has Bishop and they must assume he will be used against them.

Taking out Bogan’s pet telepath (an enslaved Rachel Summers) is the key. Bogan is able to possess people by using the telepath. Sage believes Bogan is based underneath X-Corps headquarters. Amara is to help Sage and Rogue find it. The rest of them need to keep Bishop busy.

Vange Whedon (in her dragon form) flies Amara, Sage and Rogue up to coast.

On a cliff overlooking the ocean, two of Bogan’s henchmen attack Skids. Sunspot comes in and clobbers them, but they have back-up as well. When Cannonball, Skids and Sunspot think they have all of Bogan’s cronies beat, the real fight begins. Bishop comes in, having the tactical advantage of knowing their strengths and weaknesses, and takes all three of them out.

Gambit comes to the rescue, but he last his power so he has to rely on tricking Bishop, and knocks him into his own booby trap.

But the shadowy telepath attacks Gambit, and Bogan tells him he doesn't care who gets hurt as long as he wings.

Meanwhile, while flying to their planned landing location, Sage tells Vange that there is a change of plans. They fly inland to a deserted intersection and land.

Sage explains that with an advisory who’s power is only matched by his cruelty and with Bogan’s inside knowledge of all of them due to controlling Bishop and the telepath, she had to bring in someone he wouldn't suspect - Kitty Pryde. She is especially useful since she mind cannot be read by telepath (when she is phased).

Kitty greets them, wearing a leather outfit with a bare midriff. She says to them every time she thinks she is out of the X-Men, they pull her back in.
