X-Men Deadly Genesis 5

Three hours earlier, Office Of National Emergency (O*N*E) analysts see Vulcan flying nearby the Westchester Airport during the disaster and assume it's the guy who the X-Men say hi-jacked their jet. They're able to trace his energy signature and dispatch a Sentinel to Vulcan's location.

Outside of Moira's New York Research Lab, Vulcan tells Scott and Rachel that he's telling the truth. Scott thinks that's impossible, since the island just let him go, and that he isn't Vulcan's brother. Vulcan asks him if he always has so much trouble remembering things. Scott thinks that Vulcan is just tricking him, like with the illusion of Jean in the cave.

The Sentinel arrives and Vulcan goes after it. The Sentinel orders him to freeze, but Vulcan doesn't, and then blocks the Sentinel's pulsar beam.

As Vulcan is distracted with the Sentinel, Scott turns to Rachel and asks if her powers have returned. They have, but she's not at full strength. He asks if she can fly. As Vulcan and the Sentinel continue to dual in the sky, Scott tells Rachel to fly, and that they're about 200 miles from north east of the Institute. As the Sentinel looses power and crashes to the ground, Scott tells Rachel to go now. She argues that she isn't going to leave him, but he orders her to go. He needs to find out the truth. Reluctantly, Rachel flies off, as the Sentinel crashes down right where Scott was.

Vulcan vaporizes the pilot of the Sentinel in front of Scott, who goes after him, calling him an animal. Vulcan tells him that this is all part of the plan. Since he was unable to find the Professor, he allowed Marvel Girl to escape to bring an audience and Xavier to them. He flies off with struggling Scott.

Meanwhile, at a pub in Wales, a man in a treachcoat and hat watches a news report about the disaster at the Westchester Airport that shows footage of Vulcan hovering over the scene. The man pays his tab and leaves, telling the bartender to keep the change since he likely won't be needing it.

At the Xavier Institute, Emma, Hank, Logan, Kurt and Alex are gathered around a television watching the news about the Sentinel being destroyed by Vulcan, debating what to do. Alex wants to go there to investigate, but Logan and Kurt urges caution. Emma thinks she recognizes Vulcan, but can't remember where she's seen him. Kitty comes in with information about location where the Sentinel was destroyed, and that it was owned by Moira and Charles. Logan and Kurt theorize it's one of Moira's students, when Rachel comes in looking worse for wear, and tells them she knows where Vulcan is taking Scott and what's he's planning.

Cyclops and Vulcan arrive on Muir Island, since Vulcan learned Sean had found something there. Vulcan tells Scott that he killed Sean to create a spectacle that could draw the Professor out of hiding. Scott angrily shouts that he could never be his brother. Vulcan tries to explain that the Professor had told him right before he left to for the Krakoa mission and how he was raised as a slave to people who weren't from Earth. Scott argues back that he wouldn't just forget having another brother, and Vulcan tells him to ask Xavier himself.

Xavier walks up behind them, relieved that Scott is okay. Scott is shocked to see Xavier walking again. Xavier tells Gabriel that he's making a big mistake, and Scott realizes that Xavier knows Gabe. Just then, the X-jet flies overhead. Vulcan threatens to kill all of the X-Men, but Xavier pleads that it's not their fault.

Nightcrawler teleports Emma and Wolverine down to where they are as the jet lands behind them. Wolverine immediately attacks Vulcan, but both and Nightcrawler are blasted to the ground. Xavier implores him to take his revenge on him, not the X-Men. The rest of the team (Shadowcat, Colossus, Havok, Marvel Girl, Iceman and Beast) arrive. Vulcan makes a deal with them. The X-Men stay where they are, and he won't break the Professor's neck until after he tells them all the truth.

Xavier relents, and tells Scott that he's the liar, not Gabriel, and that he really is his brother. Vulcan blasts him, wanting Xavier to show them with his telepathy. But Xavier replies that he's lost his powers and is no longer a mutant, thanks to Scarlett Witch.

The back-up story has a flashback to when Emma was working as an exotic dancer at the Hellfire Club and she met Xavier, Moira MacTaggert and Gabriel.
